Susan Tresman PhD BSc PGCE - Joint Vice Chair of Trustees
Following an academic career leading to an appointment as Senior Lecturer in the Science Faculty at the Open University, and a number of professorial visiting appointments overseas and in UK, Susan spent a decade as CEO of two learning disability charities. In 2012 she joined the NHS in a Governance Role being appointed to the Governing Body of Guildford and Waverley Clinical Commissioning Group as the Lay Vice Chair and Lay Member for Quality and Clinical Governance. In 2019 Susan was appointed to the position of Independent Chair of Guildford and Waverley Integrated Care Partnership bringing together 12 partners spanning Health services - Social Care , NHS Health Commissioners, Hospital and GP services, mental health and community providers, Voluntary Sector colleagues and Borough Councils - to provide integrated services for the residents.
In a Voluntary capacity, Susan has undertaken a series of Trustee and Chair roles for Charities associated with Carer Support and learning Disability.
A Carer herself, she was also appointed to the role of Independent Carers Lead for Surrey to bring the voice of unpaid Carers to the centre in designing and delivering support services for Carers.
She is Surrey Ambassador for the War Horse Memorial-one of our close partners.
Susan joined the Board at Mane Chance in 2016 and advises on Special Education as Governance Issues and holds the position of our Safeguarding Trustee.
